In the UK, the NHS publishes some datasets specifically related to mental health issues:

  • Information on patients who have either been detained, or who are cared for under the Mental Health Act 1983
  • Information on patients accessing care provided in hospitals
  • social care statistcs as well as surveys on mental health topics

Datasets are also published relating to prescriptions data. An example of accessing prescription data republished via a Google spreadsheet and then accessed in a queryable way as if it were a database via the Google Visualisation API can be found here: Primary Care Trust Prescribing Data July to September 2010
