If I'm a business storing customer data online, what EU/UK legislation do I need to comply with? What if I store data about/for customers from US, Australia, Asia, etc. - do I need to read all their data protection legislation? If you can provide links to further read about the subject, that would be great. Many thanks!

no matter whos data your storing it is the country you are in that counts the uk have the data protection act 1984 data protection act 1998 the EC directive on data retention 2009 the data protection act.

most EU laws have been made into UK statutes by these acts so follow them. For additional information you can check happy families insurance.
